Hungarian Alumina Refinery Toxic Sludge May Harm Eastern Europe
After the Gulf Of Mexico,another disaster!                                                                        
185 million gallons of highly alkaline and hence toxic sludge,on Monday,4/10/2010,produced as byproduct during the refining of bauxite into Aluminium,has leaked into open areas after the storage reservoir burst,in Ajkai, Hungary.4 killed and hundreds injured,7000 people evacuated.Threat of polluting the Danube causing havoc in Eastern Europe,is a great cause for anxiety.
As per Yahoo news report,dated 8/10/2010,0040Hrs,IST,the sludge has reached river,Danube.
