BlackBerry and Terrorism
BlackBerry has offered India several ways to allow authorities to monitor communications.It will be checked by the GOI within 60 days,as on 14/9/2010.Read here
India is afraid that the facilities in the contraption may be used by Terrorists.Similar fears have been expressed by some West Asian Nations.

Canada's Trade Minister,Van Loan and commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma discussed the issue,and the former is confident that the problems will be sorted out,though there are differing opinions from the Indian and the Canadian sides,as to what is possible and what is not. The whole problem revolves around access to encrypted data,which may be exploited by terrorists,for covert communications,as some nations fear,in Blackberry. Read here
The Canadian Co,RIM, has about one million of its 41 million BlackBerry customers in India, most of them are corporate users, making the country a key market.
